Evidence trail

Each sourcing request should identify the approved brief revision, supplier responses, quotation qualifications and agreed inspection scope. The comparison record shows missing documents as outstanding items. A certificate name on a brochure is insufficient without checking issuer, holder, validity and the production site covered.

Decision ownership

Buyer approval remains separate from supplier selection support. Local design professionals evaluate wind load, snow load, seismic design category, fire strategy and foundation reactions. Manufacturing, warranties and material declarations remain with the contracted supplier under the agreed purchase terms.

Commercial clarity

Service scope, fees, payment milestones and document-sharing permissions require a written agreement. Freight allowances and destination costs are reviewed separately from frame supply. No price, lead time or supplier acceptance is binding merely because an initial inquiry has been submitted.

Limits of coordination

Supplier matching depends on availability and evidence access. Inspection uses an agreed sample plan and cannot reveal every concealed condition. Export coordination remains subject to carrier restrictions and destination procedures. These limits belong in the purchase review, where the buyer can assign further specialist checks.

Credentials are checked against scope

• ISO 9001: request the supplier certificate and covered facility; this is a management system reference, not proof of building safety.
• Welding documentation: request procedure and personnel qualification records against the project specification, including AWS D1.1 where required by the engineer.
• Material traceability: connect mill test certificates, grade and heat identifiers to the supplied members before accepting a documentary claim.
